Marco's Comments:
This is the biography of Joroslav Marek, the giant who worked with Chefalo and then had a professional magical career as Longmark. The book contains numerous photos of the artist, some of which from the Chefalo period, and is a long interview with Mr. Marek about his career. Longmark was Czechoslovakia foremost magician of the XX century and his life story seems very interesting. Pity I don't read Czech. I've translated the book and read it: it is a collection of a number of taped interviews with Longmark. The discussion is not only about Longmark's career, but also on the psychology of magic and its impact in the countries behind the iron curtain. Longmark tells many interesting personal anecdotes of his career with Chefalo and lists his programme, which was completely Chefalo's. He then talks about his life and his performances, with a bus on which he travelled Czeckoslovakia to perform in village halls, taverns, theatres. Very interesting and educational.
