From John Fisher's auction, lot 42. This is a demonstration of the magician guessing the day of the week a date betwenn 1800 and 2000 fell... using a deck of cards. Basically, the cards are arranged and marked (with a concept similar to Boris Wild's "edge") in a way to simplify the calculation. Well, this is clever, but hardly magical: I still think this effect is better performed by committing to memory the rules for day calculation found elsewhere. This is the usual booklet with typewritten pages stapled together but it has a photo of the author pasted at the back.
