Marco's Comments:
Antique copy of the first volume of the "De Subtilitate" which contains (but it was not described as so in the auction catalog) only books 1 to 8, so missing the books dealing with magic.
The publication date of the book has been cut out from the first leaf and the hole has been restored, so the publication date and edition is unclear: the text in the subtitle seems to indicate the third and final edition from 1560 (http://bit.ly/QntGor). The book has some woodworm holes which have caused a loss of text in the last few pages (basically, all book eight). Original binding and manuscript title on the spine.
From the Bloomsbury Auction 06/06/2012.
