The "true" first edition was published (as this one) by Derren himself for the first "Mindmagic" day in London and contains 2 effects that have been removed from all other editions. The effects are "Lift" (a hypnotized volounteer loses control of her arm which can be moved only by the mental effort of a volounteer hidden from her view) and "Reminisence" (the magician is able to describe in immense detail an event from the spectator's past as well as correctly name thought-of numbers, names, etc. as they come to her mind, without requiring her to write anything or offer any information).
