Rare and interesting book on (allegoric) meaning of playing cards. Every court card has its meaning, the description of the character it represents, variations, etc. The book also contain a good deal of anedocts about cards and their use (mostly for gambling). Searching on the Internet, copies of this volume now sell for $500+. This copy had the left hand side of the spine repaired and starts to show signs of foxing on the endpapers.
